Four seasons of fun await you here in the
northwoods. The fishing is good year-round
and Marinette County has more trout streams than any other county
in the State. In addition, we are just down the road from Caldron
Falls Flowage and High Falls Flowage, a favorite of many fishermen
that come to this area, and there are a multitude of smaller
lakes close by as well.
Hunters will love Marinette County. There
are almost 200,000 acres of forest land that is open to the public.
You can hunt deer, bear, grouse, turkey, waterfowl, small game
on county land or in the Nicolet National Forest nearby. The
Peshtigo River State Forest and Tommy G. Thompson Centennial
Park around Caldron Falls and High Falls adds another ~11,000
acres for your recreation.
We are near trout streams, great whitewater
rafting, public lands with hunting, fishing, swimming, camping,
snowmobiling, ATV Trails, the State Park, and State and National
Forests.

Eagle Creek is one of many small trout streams
and rivers that run throughout the area. Most are on public land
and are a trout fishermans paradise.
Marinette County is the "Waterfall Capital"
of the State, with many of these waterfalls easily accessible for your viewing pleasure
in county parks. |

For the more adventurous, a whitewater rafting
trip down the Peshtigo River might be in order. The Peshtigo
is a great Class III-IV river in spring, and a splashy Class
II in the summer. This is easily one of the best runs in the
midwest.
Rafting usually starts early in April and
runs through September. There are several outfitters in the immediate
area. |
